NIT Students protest against Kulgam killings

Srinagar: Protests erupted in NIT Srinagar on Thursday against the civilian killings in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Four civilians, Sarjeel Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Fazil Illahi and Aijaz Ahmad were killed by government forces in Khudwani area f Kulgam during clashes which erupted amid a gunfight between militants and forces on Wednesday. At least 60 persons also sustained injuries in force’s actions.
Though the class work has been suspended in all the educational institutions to foil stop protests, witnesses told Kashmir Reader that several students residing in the hostels of the NIT held protests inside campus of institute. Pro freedom and anti India slogans were raised during the protest.
