Kashmir mourns Kulgam civilian killings

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed on Thursday across the Kashmir Valley against the killing of four Civilians in Khudwani Village of Kulgam on Wednesday.
Strict restrictions are imposed under section 144 of CrPC in several parts of old Srinagar as Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) had called for a shutdown and protests against the killings.
In Srinagar government forces have installed road blocks at several routs including Gojwari, Rajouri Kadal, Safa Kadal, Khanyar, Nowhatta and Rainawari.
Students of National institute of technology (NIT) Hazratabal staged a protest against the killing of four civilians in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
Students of SKAUST North campus of Wadoora Sopore also held protests against civilian killings. Students, alongwith female students raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. “Our innocents brother are being killed every day ,” the protesting students said.
All educational Institution remained closed and examinations were postponed on Thursday in the Kashmir Valley due to situation arisen after the civilian killings in Khudwani area of Kulgam on Wednesday. Around 60 persons were also injured during the clashes with government forces.
