Kathua Bar Association slammed for ‘supporting rapists’

SRINAGAR: The Bar Association in Bijbehara town of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday expressed serious concern and deep anguish over the Kathua Bar Association’s act of preventing filing of charge sheet in the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua.
An official statement said a meeting, chaired by the association president Khursheed Ahmad Shah, was held at the court premises in Bijbehara.
“This is an unfortunate act of hindering the process of justice, and amounts to endorsement of the crime committed,” the Bar members said.
“We have in one voice expressed deep concern and anguish over the unfortunate incident. The process of justice should never be stalled, Khursheed Shah said.
The members said the judicial process in the horrific rape and murder of the child should be taken to its logical conclusion and justice should be delivered.
