A great loss to medical fraternity: Dr Nisar
SRINAGAR: A condolence meeting of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) was held on Tuesday at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar to mourn the demise of a noted physician Dr Abdul Nafee who breathed his last today at his residence in Shivpora after a prolonged illness.
Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Saddened over the death, DAK president Dr Nisar ul Hassan said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and the demise has created a great void in the field of medicine.
“A medical luminary, Dr Nafee, graduated from GMC Srinagar and after completing his post graduation, he joined GMC and became professor and head of the medicine department at this prestigious institution,” he said.
DAK president said Dr Nafee was instrumental in establishing and shaping the department of medicine at GMC.
“His contributions in the field of medicine will be remembered for all times to come. He was a compassionate and empathetic doctor and had attained great respect from his patients. A man of impeccable integrity, his commitment to the welfare of people of the state was commendable. He will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched,” Dr Nisar ul Hassan said.
