Kathua Bar Association slammed for ‘supporting rapists’

SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the action of lawyers in Kathua, who tried to prevent CBI from filing charge sheet before the CJM Kathua in the rape and murder case of an eight-year-old girl of Kathua, the JKPCC vice president and MLC G N Monga on Tuesday said by such acts, these communal elements have shown their true colours.
“These fringe elements in Jammu are hell bent on giving religious colour to this heinous crime. Now they have come in true colours by even trying to stop police from filing charge sheet against the enemies of humanity,” Monga said in a statement issued here.
Demanding strict action against these lawyers, Monga said, “Instead of being the guardians of law, they have broken the law. They should be dealt according to law. These anti-social and anti-human elements have been from day one trying to politicise the issue and halt the investigation to derive political mileages out of this barbaric incident. However, now they stand completely exposed before the people.”
Asking the PDP-led government to come clean over the issue, the Congress leader said, “When two senior BJP minister attended a rally organised by the Hindu Ekta Manch – a right wing group in Kathua – last month, they had asked the police not to arrest anyone in the case. They even called the investigation of the Crime Branch, which is being monitored by the high court, as ‘jungle raj’. PDP is alliance partner of the BJP in the state and they must come clean over these incidents.”
