AWANTIPORA: A delegation from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) on Monday visited Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora and had an interaction with the deans, directors, heads/principals of various departments, university officials and students.
The delegation led by, Director, Students Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Dr Ummi Salwa Ahmad Bustamam and will be in the campus till Friday, 13th April, an official release read. Dean Academic Affairs, IUST Prof A M Shah chaired the programme. Both Prof Shah and Dr Ummi delivered presentations about their respective institutions.
Prof Shah in his remarks said that the purpose of holding Monday’s deliberations was to have an exchange of ideas between IUST and USIM so that a platform was created wherein both these institutions could share knowledge and other things for the development and upliftment of the society. Dr Ummi while thanking IUST for providing her a chance to visit the campus, in her remarks mentioned that USIM was here to establish a ‘symbiotic’ relationship with IUST in terms of students/faculty exchange and other academic and research aspects.
The delegation also met Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi. Welcoming the delegates, Prof Siddiqi, informed that “IUST is trying to provide platform in the campus wherein its students and faculty can exchange their academic, research and innovative ideas and ambitions with other institutions/universities”, the official release read.
