JAMMU: Minister for Finance, Education Labour and Employment, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday urged the teachers to revive the practice of imparting moral lessons at morning assembly as “it is badly needed to save our posterity from evil effects of material world”.
“There is impending need to make moral education a part of academics to produce good human beings. I fear distancing education from our value system has started showing ugly effects on our social character,” the minister said after inaugurating a newly established private school here at Domana.
The minister hailed the school management for serving mankind by spreading education and hoped that children of diverse backgrounds would be benefitted by this ‘great’ initiative.
“All religions teach to love fellow human beings and these values can be best reinforced in the society through educational institutions, religious preachers and those who have dedicated themselves to human cause,” the minister said.
