SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership (JRL) has strongly condemned the arrest seven Dukhtran-e-Millat (DeM) activists, saying that “occupying forces after brutalising our youth do not allow us to even mourn their death”. They termed it “utmost highhandedness and moral bankruptcy” to handcuff female freedom activists.
In a statement, the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, said, “The stooges of Delhi have gone so low that they tarnish apart even their own laws. The rhetoric of respect and dignity of women folk, especially of the women chief minister, proves hoax when it comes to dealing with our nation.”
“But history stands testimony to the fact that stooges and collaborators of oppressive and brute forces get vanished with time and Kashmiri nation will also see the fate of these agents of cruelty,” the leadership said.
The JRL added, “These mean and immoral acts of oppression have never cowed down the will and aspiration of the people in general and leaders in particular. The establishment should at least uphold its own laws and regulations.”
The leadership appealed to international forums of justice and human rights organisations to “take strong note of these gross violations of basic rights”.
