POONCH: Minister for Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali emphasised on the need to provide quality education and good infrastructure besides imparting good values and principles among the students.
The minister said this while addressing a function organised by Gujjar hostels and Gujjar employees association along with Tribal Youth Associations at Gujjar Hostel Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the role of G&B (Gujjar and Bakarwal) hostels in helping students acquire quality education. “There are dreams and aspirations in the eyes of every child who comes to school and helping them fulfill their dreams should be our motive,” he said.
He called upon hostel administration to explore further possibilities to usher the onerous task of future building of youth by imparting them quality education besides providing them a space where they can study.
The minister said, “Government is adopting pragmatic approach to improve the socio-economic condition of tribal population and various schemes have been launched to cater to their needs.”
Problems and issues of G&B hostel were also projected before the minister including improvement/upgradation of infrastructure facilities in the hostel, increase in intake capacity of students in Gujjar and Bakarwal hostel in next academic year.
The minister assured early redressal of the concerns raised and also announced upgradation of education courses up to graduation level in girls hostel for Gujjar and Bakarwal.
