Baroosa in Ganderbal shuts to mourn last year’s civilian killing

Baroosa in Ganderbal district is observing a complete shutdown on Monday against the killing of a local youth allegedly in government forces’ firing last year on this day when Srinagar-Budgam constituency went for polls.
All the shops and other business establishments are closed in the area while traffic is off the roads.
This day last year, 20-year-old Umer Ganie was killed after the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened fire allegedly on a group of boys standing at Baroosa bypass.
Besides, eight civilians were also killed by government forces’ in Budgam district.
