PAMPORE: A court building was partially damaged in fire incident at Pampore in Pulwama district Saturday evening.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that fire broke out in the judicial building housing the Munsif court in the court complex damaged in 2014 floods.
The three-room building was damaged in the fire but timely action by fire brigade prevented the blaze from spreading to adjoining building, Bar president Arshid Ahmad Dar told Kashmir Reader.
Police officials told Kashmir Reader that the court building was damaged in the incident and the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
Bar Association Pampore had in Febraury held protest against the government for not carrying out renovations and repairs in Munsif court complex since 2014 floods.
The lawyers accused the authorities of delaying the reconstruction and renovation work of the court complex thus putting the litigants visiting the court complex to inconvenience.
