GANDERBAL: District Bar Association Ganderbal has been observing pen down strike since Monday against the killing of a youth Gowhar Ahmad in Kangan in police action.
“Use of bullets against civilian protesters is highly condemnable and we observe pen down strike against the killings whether it be in Shopian or Kangan,” said Bar district president advocate Sajad Salathi.
Bar members condemned the use of bullets and pellets by government forces. “The killing of Gowhar Ahmad by police in unprovoked firing is brutal and totally unacceptable,” Bar vice president advocate Kousar Masoodi and general secretary advocate SM Mustehseen said. The Association through its member advocate Abid Jeelani visited the family of slain youth and expressed solidarity. “At this moment of grief, the Bar Association Ganderbal stands with the family and would help it in all possible ways,” the Bar member said.
