SRINAGAR: Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Saturday celebrated the World Health Day 2018 across all the health institutions of valley.
This year, the theme was ‘Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere’ with the slogan ‘Health for All’. The primary hashtag used was #HealthForAll in addition to #WorldHealthDay.
An official statement issued here said the Department of Health carried out various activities including health camps for creating awareness among general masses and also for screening of people for various diseases including hypertension and diabetes.
A total of 62 health camps were organised across Kashmir division. Doctors from various specialties treated the patients and free drugs were given to patients. People were also apprised about the various health programmes and services being provided by the department.
Stressing upon the importance of observing World Health Day, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saleem ur Rehman said that people should be able to realise their right to the highest possible level of health. He appreciated the efforts of the field staff and the organisers for conducting the multi specialty health camps.
