SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday paid tributes to Musavir Hassan Wani of Dalipora, Pulwama who was killed in an encounter with government forces at Kangan, saying that Kashmiri youth are sacrificing their lives for “a great and sacred cause”.
A spokesperson of the amalgam in a statement said New Delhi’s iron fist and repressive policy is the main reason for the youth to opt armed struggle as a means of resistance. “The way forces are unleashing a reign of terror across Kashmir by killing, maiming and injuring youth, it seems that Delhi doesn’t want to resolve Kashmir but to prolong its resolution by using its military might on the peace loving people of Kashmir.”
The conglomerate strongly condemned use of brute force on peaceful protesters at Dalipora , Pulwama and arrest of dozens of people at Palhallan, Pattan stating that the government through its forces are leaving no stone unturned by adopting all the undemocratic means to break the resolve of people which is highly condemnable.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson strongly denounced the government’s decision of continuously caging the amalgam chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his residence once again thereby disallowing him from carrying out his social, religious and political duties.
“The move is not just political vendetta but a plan to keep Mirwaiz away from people to create a distance between him and the masses,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed grief over the demises of several party members and activists.
Expressing condolence with Hakeem Masood of Bagwanpora Lal Bazar over the demise of his mother and Mehraj ud Din Bazaz of Nowshera Srinagar, Mirwaiz prayed for the departed souls.
“The brother of late Mehraj ud Din, Ghulam Rasool Bazaz is among the 70 martyrs who attained martyrdom in Hawal massacre during the funeral of AAC founder Shaheed-e-Milat (RA),” the statement said.
