Says, ‘These politicians don’t have any worth and hence don’t deserve our vote and support’
Kangan (Ganderbal): In a telephonic address to family members and people of Kangan mourning over the death in police action of 22-year-old Gowhar Rather, Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that those who lay their lives for a sacred cause are alive with their Lord and receive sustenance from him.
Geelani quoting a verse from the Holy Quran said that a true Muslim reposes his faith only in Allah and is duty-bound to follow and carry forward the mission of martyrs.
Geelani said that it was very painful to see those carrying the coffins of youngsters as extending support to pro-India politicians. “They have no regard for their suffering community,” Geelani said of them and asked them to take care of their conscience.
“These politicians don’t have any worth and hence don’t deserve our vote and support,” Geelani said.
He appealed to people to check waywardness, immoral and unscrupulous activities in society.
Members of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), led by KTMF President Mohammad Yaseen Khan, also visited Gowhar’s residence and paid rich tributes to the slain youth.
