Srinagar: The Students of Government Degree College, Bemina, Amar Singh College in Srinagar and Government Degree College Sumbal in Bandipora Thursday held protests against the recent killings in Kashmir.
13 militants and 05 civilians have been killed in last six days in Shopian, Anantnag and Ganderbal districts in force’s actions.
The students of Bemina College tried to come out and march however they were intercepted resulting in minor clashes in the area.
The traffic was halted from both sides of the busy Bemina road for some time.
The protesting students pelted rocks on the men in uniform creating panic in the area.
The students of Amar Singh College in Srinagar also came out of their classes and hit the streets. Raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans the protesting students pelted rocks at forces however, the forces did not retaliate.
In north Kashmir’s Sumbal, the College students raised slogans and held protests against the killings. They also offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain militants and civilians.
