SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the BJP for “hoodwinking” the people over the much awaited deportation of Rohingya and Bangladeshis from Jammu region.
JKNPP workers led by Harsh Dev Singh sought early deportation of the “illegal immigrants”. They accused BJP of cheating the people of Jammu “to keep the Kashmiri leaders in good humour”.
The protesters raised slogans of ‘Gaddar BJP, Hai Hai’, ‘Chodho Hamara Jammu Pradesh, Rohingyas Jaao Bangladesh’, ‘Rohingyas, Bangladeshis, Go Back’.
Describing Rohingyas as the biggest threat to the communal harmony and composite culture of Jammu, Harsh lambasted the “criminal apathy” of the government and “lame duck posturing” of BJP over the issue.
Accusing Congress, NC, and PDP of openly supporting Rohingya settlement in the state, Singh warned BJP-led dispensation for providing civic amenities to them.
He termed Rohingya as “ticking time bombs”,.
