SRINAGAR: Chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syeda Aasiya Andrabi on Wednesday welcomed the announcement by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to send envoys to six important capitals to highlight “Indian brutalities” in Kashmir.
Aasiya in a statement said Pakistan, an important stakeholder in the Kashmir issue, has taken some steps to highlight and expose Indian “brutalities” in Kashmir.
“Today’s announcement by the Pak PM is a right step. Pakistan has to make its diplomatic front stronger as far as Kashmir issue is concerned. If Pakistan fulfils its responsibility effectively, India will have to bow and Kashmir issue will be resolved very soon,” she said.
Andrabi said Pakistan has to take it (Kashmir) seriously and make its diplomatic front stronger than ever so that it can persuade the world into pressurising India to give Kashmiris their right to choose their own future.
Meanwhile, a DeM spokesperson said that despite restrictions and curfew, a delegation led by party’s south Kashmir representative Nazimah managed to reach Shopian and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families.
Aasiya also addressed the gathering (via phone) at the residence of Aitemad Fayaz, the statement said.
