Srinagar: Authorities on late Tuesday decided to close all the schools and colleges in the Kashmir valley tomorrow on April 4.
A top government official told news agency KNS that the schools will remain closed on Wednesday as well. “Keeping in view the prevailing situation, all schools and colleges will remain closed for one day (tomorrow),” he said.
“The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure,” the official said to KNS.
The step has been taken in view of the “Shopian Challo” call of pro-freedom leaders.
The resistance leadership has called for “Shopian Challo” to protest the recent killings of 13 militants and 04 civilians by government forces in Shopian district.
The decision to close all educational institutions was taken in a high level meeting, official sources said.
Meanwhile, Kashmir University has also announced to suspend class work and postpone all exams scheduled on Wednesday.
