SRINAGAR: While condemning the “worst kind of gruesome attack” by Indian forces on Kashmiri people in Shopian and Anantnag districts, JKLF senior vice chairman Abdul Hameed Butt on Monday directed all existing party structures in every zone to have a week-long protests, sit-ins and seminars against “Indian highhandedness”.
Butt in a statement expressed deep anger against the “criminal” silence of the international community over the grave situation in Kashmir. He demanded immediate launch of an offensive and aggressive diplomatic campaign by Pakistan at this point of time, saying it is not the time to issue a condemnation statement only.
The JKLF leader criticised the Pakistani government and its media for “not taking, like in the past, this gruesome killing serious and not giving the due coverage as deserved”.
Abdul Hameed Butt in Mirpur and Dr. Toqeer Gilani in Kotli will lead protests against Indian atrocities, the statement said, adding, they will also lead Namaz-e-Jinazah in absentia on Tuesday, In Sha Allah.
