South Kashmir gunfights: Death toll mounts to 16

The total death toll in the southern Kashmir gunfights has mounted to 16 with the killing of three more militants in the ongoing gunfight in Kachdoora village of Shopian district in southern Kashmir.
Top police officials confirmed to Kashmir Reader that three militants were killed in the gunfight in Kachdoora while one more army personnel has succumbed to injuries. The identity of the militants is yet to be ascertained.
The killing of three militants has taken the total militant death toll to 11 while the killing of army man has taken the forces death toll to 3. Besides, two civilians were also killed earlier during the clashes near gunfight sites.
Several civilians have suffered pellet and bullet injuries during the clashes.
Earlier, 7 militants were killed in a separate gunfight in Durrand village of the district while another one was killed during a gunfight in Dialgam Anantnag. All the slain were identified as locals.
