Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairperson Muhammad Ashraf Sehraie on Friday said that his son Junaid had made a “conscious decision” to become a militant and that he will not appeal to his son to return.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Sehraie said that his son’s blood was not more pious than that of other boys who were fighting “Indian occupation”.
Reacting to the DGP’s request to him to appeal to his son and other militants to return to their families, Sehraie said, “When we have not appealed to other youths to return, why should I appeal to my son?”
“My son is responsible and is performing his duty. It is his own decision. He is educated and intelligent. Those who are intelligent find ways to get closer to Allah,” Sehraie said.
