Forest fire injures five employees in Bandipora

Bandipora: The forest fire which has engulfed compartment number 108 of Khuihama range yesterday in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district is yet to be dozed off.
Five employees of the forest department have so far received injuries while dousing off the flames among which one is said to be critical.
According to the officials, the fire has engulfed the forest range in 18-20 patches which are giving the department a very tough time to doze off the flames.
The locals have also joined in helping the department to doze off the forest fire, an official said.
Divisional forest officer Abdul Hamid Malla said to Kashmir Reader that their employee, Abdul Rashid received critical injuries last night while dozing off the flames. He said that several other employees have also received minor injuries while fighting the forest fire.
The officer added that they were trying their best to save the trees from getting engulfed and said that they will be soon able to control the fire.
