SRINAGAR: District Industries Centre, Srinagar held an awareness camp at Ibn-Khaldun Auditorium, Kashmir University here on Thursday.
In a motivating speech to the audience, which mainly comprised of students from management, Commerce and Economics streams, DDC Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah urged them to “optimally use their potential by working hard and realise their dreams”. He also appreciated the efforts of General Manager, DIC, Srinagar Syed Sajjad Qadri for organising such an event which he said would go a long way in bridging the gap between bureaucracy and academia.
Director, Industries and Commerce, Bilal Ahmad Bhat said that the department of industries and commerce would facilitate all potential entrepreneurs who wanted to invest in the state.
Dean, Academic Affairs, Kashmir University, Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, HOD, Department of Management Studies, Kashmir University, Prof Mushtaq Darzi urged students to “look beyond government jobs and choose entrepreneurship as their careers”.
General Manager, DIC, Srinagar said that there was a dire need that the intellectual class and the youth of the state come forward and made some positive impact on the ground and being the agents of change.
A presentation on various schemes and incentives available from the department was also given on the occasion. DIC, Srinagar also showcased some of the success stories of district Srinagar who also interacted with the students.
At the venue, several unit holders also displayed their locally manufactured products which were appreciated by the visitors.
