Srinagar: Media reports on Thursday said that a woman of Barmer district of Gujarat, who went missing on March 16, has converted to Islam and married to a Kashmiri man.
Her father has alleged that she had been kidnapped from Ahmedabad.
Hindustan Times reported Ritu Khandelwal’s father Ganesh Kumar as saying that his daughter had neither converted nor married the Kashmiri man. “We fear she’s been brainwashed and her life is in danger.”
Ritu, according to the report, went missing on March 16 from her home, and when her family registered a missing report, the police found that she was in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
The woman, according to reports quoting police, had converted to Islam in December last year and married a Kashmiri man.
