ISM Bandipora organises seminar on diabetes

BANDIPORA: Indian System of medicines (ISM) Health Bandipora organised a seminar on ‘Role of AYUSH in prevention and treatment of Diabetes’, here on Wednesday.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bandipora Usman Majeed was the chief guest on the occasion while as District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sania was the guest of honour.
The objective of the seminar was to highlight the role of AYUSH system of medicines in prevention and treatment of various diseases including diabetes.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA stressed upon the ISM functionaries to take the AYUSH system on missionary mode so that its benefits could percolate to the people in general and those who live in far flung and inaccessible areas.
He said AYUSH system of treatment is not anything new but has a rich past history, adding that the need of the hour is to restore the pristine glory of this “side effect free” treatment which can only be done by the hard work of ISM Functionaries and proper support of the people.
The DDC Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sania in his speech enjoined upon the concerned department to initiate a vigorous awareness campaign across the district especially in rural and far-flung areas. He assured every possible support from district administration.
Nodal Officer ISM, Dr. Iftikhar gave the details about the achievements of the year. He said the AYUSH Mission has been getting momentum as there is the tremendous response from the people to avail the benefits of AYUSH way of treatment.
Earlier, State Master trainer AYUSH Mission Dr. Irfan gave a detailed awareness about the role of AYUSH in prevention and treatment of Diabetes. Among others, Officers from District Administration, Education and ICDS were also present.
