SRINAGAR: A strong education system is the foundation of a strong nation and education is the real beauty of a human being. Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed these views while addressing students through tele-media on the eve of International Day for Education.
He was addressing the students of GHSS Amirakadal on morning assembly where a special function for the purpose had been organised.
He said, “Educating a man means to educating a person while to educate a woman means to educate the whole family.”
Secretary Education said that our state was once famous in the field of education and we should make every possible effort to restore that glory. He said, “If we excel in education then sky is the limit, so we should try to perform best in the field of education irrespective of the subjects.”
He stressed upon the students to fully concentrate on their education thereby maintaining an age old legacy.
On the eve of International Day for Education, secretary appealed the teacher community that they should take education as worship because “all our happiness is embedded in the same”.
On the occasion Director School Education Kashmir Dr G N Itoo said “education is that tool which helps us to pass through difficult oceans and to cross huge mountains”.
He said, “The biggest challenge in today’s world is to keep a balance between modern education system, information technology and the value system for which the department will guide the students at every step.” He appealed teacher community to support in this regard.
Director School Education Jammu Rakesh Kumar too attended many functions in this regard and expressed good wishes for the students.
Another function was organised at GHSS Kothibagh where free spectacles were distributed among more than 400 students who were examined earlier. The event was organised by SSA Wing of CEO Srinagar under IED component during which Deputy Chief Education Officer Srinagar Mudassir Kaleem Fazili, OSD Cultural Education Wing DSEK G N Shakir, Media Coordinator Education Fayyaz Ahmad Fayyaz and District Incharge SSA Showkat Hussain distributed free spectacles among the students.
International Day for Education was celebrated across the state and in this regard several functions were organised on the morning assembly and throughout the day in education institutions.
During the morning assembly programme at GHSS Amirakadal, the Principal of the Institute Afifa Ashai distributed meritorious certificates among the students who had performed well in various activities. According to the information received by State Media Centre Education many functions were organised in various Institutions of the valley which include GHSS Rajbagh, BHSS Batamaloo, GHS Khanabal Anantnag, BHSS Jawahar Nagar, Model HSS Dooru, GHSS Nunar Ganderbal, GHSS Kupwara, etc.
Several functions in Ganderbal, Budgam, Anantnag, Ramban and other districts of the state including Leh and Kargil were organised in which students were enlightened about the importance of Education.
