Srinagar: The snow clearance operation on the highway, connecting Ladakh region with Kashmir and historic Mughal road has been completed and traffic will be allowed within next few days after remaining closed since December last year.
Meanwhile, only one-way traffic will continue on the highway, linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the world, till further orders and vehicles will ply from Jammu to Srinagar on Wednesday.
No vehicle will be allowed from opposite direction, a traffic police official told UNI.
The snow clearance operation on Srinagar-Leh highway, particularly between Sonamarg-Zojila-Meenmarg-Drass has been almost completed.
However, at some places the road widening work was in progress as vehicles had to pass through big snow walls on both sides.
