Baramulla: At least four residential houses were gutted in Lachipora area of border town Uri on Tuesday afternoon.
Locals said that fire broke out from a house in Lachipora village gutted three other houses and some cow sheds.
Seven families were affected due in the fire incident.
Station House Officer (SHO) Bijhama confirmed to Kashmir Reader that four houses and some cow sheds were gutted in a fire incident in Lachipora village and added that some cattle were also charred to death.
The affected families were identified as Haji Mohammad Abdullah Mugal, Mohammad din Mugal, Gulam Mohammad Mughal, Dost Mohammad Mugal, Fateh Mohammad Mughal, Abdul Jabar Mughal, and
Shah Begum wife of Amdali Mugal.
MLA Uri Mohammad Shafi expressed sympathies with victim families and demanded compensation for them.
