SRINAGAR: “Sacred mission of martyrs is a precious treasure of oppressed Kashmiri nation. We will leave no stone unturned to fulfill their mission,” said the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday.
A JKLF statement issued here said Malik made these remarks while presiding over a condolence meet held for Late Mir Ahmad who died recently in “Azad Kashmir”. The condolence meeting was attended by party’s senior leaders and activists and addressed by various leaders.
Recalling the struggle and sacrifices of Late Mir Ahmad, Malik said the deceased was a close associate of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and his death has marked the closure of a glorious page of resistance.
“Mir Ahmad was part of a group of resistance struggle along with Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Amanullah Khan and Aurangzeb came to Kashmir in 1966 during which three of them got arrested and Aurangzeb attained martyrdom. He escaped from Srinagar central jail along with Maqbool Butt in 1969 and till death remained steadfast in the way of resistance against illegal military occupation,” the statement said.
During the meeting, the “struggle and sacrifices of great martyrs Shaheed-e-Kashmir Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed-e-Hikmat Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, Shaheed-e-Insaaf Advocate Jalil Indrabi and Shaheed-e-Sadaqat Syed Shabir Ahmad Sidiqi was also recalled,” the statement added.
JKLF chief in his address said, “These martyrs sacrificed their today for the betterment of our tomorrow; this is why no Kashmiri can ever forget their struggle and sacrifices. The nation is indebted to these great martyrs and we will leave no stone unturned in order to fulfill their sacred mission.”
Announcing the programs on the anniversaries of the martyrs, Malik said, “In connection with the martyrdom anniversary of Jalil Indrabi on 27 March 2018, Tuesday, Qur’an Khawani will be held at JKLF head office and all other district offices. On 30 March 2018, Friday, in connection with the martyrdom anniversary of Ishfaq Majeed Wani and Shabir Ahmad Sidiqi, a condolence meeting will be held at Mazar-e-Shuhada Eidgah at 10:00 am. On 31 March 2018, Saturday, in connection with the martyrdom anniversary of Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, a blood donation camp will be held at Abi Guzar Srinagar. Hameed blood bank will organise the camp at 10:30 am (In Sha Allah).”
Meanwhile, senior JKLF member Abdul Rashid Taploo of Anchar Soura presently Nunar Ganderbal breathed his last on Monday. Malik and Noor Kalwal along with district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Boya and Ghulam Muhammad Dar visited Ganderbal and participated in the funeral prayers. JKLF expressed condolence with the bereaved family.
