Srinagar: Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba is visiting one of the security installations in south Kashmir before returning to New Delhi on Tuesday after winding up two day visit to Kashmir Valley.
Official sources said that before departure, he would also make final review of the discussions held yesterday during about three hour long “security review” meeting in Srinagar.
Home Secretary enjoined upon the forces agencies and the state administration to take concerted efforts to get back the local youth from militancy.
Gauba asked the top officials to engage the local boys in various developmental activities to keep them away from joining various militant outfits.
He called for carrying out “clean anti militancy operations” while avoiding collateral damage.
Home Secretary urged various forces agencies to employ strategy that would help in avoiding fatal casualties from the forces’ side.
Gauba also called for ensuring “peaceful” summer and go tough against all those who would try to derail the upcoming tourism season in Kashmir. He also stressed the need to expedite the ongoing implementation work on over Rs 80 thousand Crore PM’s Development Package.
Earlier, Gauba arrived in Srinagar yesterday for a two day visit to take stock of the overall situation.
