Army man killed, 8 injured in highway road mishap

Anantnag: An army man lost his life while as eight other people, including six army men, were injured Monday morning in a collision between an army vehicle and a truck, here in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
The mishap took place at about 10.30am Monday morning, along the Srinagar-Jammu highway, here in Kaigam area of Awantipora.
As per police reports an army vehicle had a head on collision with a truck bearing number-PB06 V 5657.
“Nine people were injured and one of them later succumbed to his injuries,” a police official said.
He identified the slain army man as Gunar Kuldeep Singh of 329-Artillery.
The injured army men, police said, were shifted to army’s base hospital in Srinagar and the ‘driver and conductor’ of the truck to a civil hospital.
“All the injured are stable and undergoing treatment,” the official said.
