Budgam: A complete shutdown is being observed in Chrar-e-sharief town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district Monday against government for its “apathy” and the “culture of impunity” toward the town.
The local trade unions and falahi committees have issued a strike call for today in order to press government for the redressal of their “long pending” demands.
The people have assembled at the main market and started chanting slogans against the government ‘official apathy’ towards the town, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.
The protestors alleged that the people of the town are being deprived from all the basic amenities like water, dumping sites, electricity, roads etc.
They added that despite Chief Minister has made commitment of developing the town on modern lines but till date none of the promises have been fulfilled.
