Stakeholders not involved while deciding on budget: PHDCCI

SRINAGAR: The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) Kashmir Chapter has expressed disappointment by the decisions taken in the recently held meeting for progress/action taken on budget announcement by Industries and Commerce Department for MSMEs, Handicraft and Textile Sectors of J&K under the Chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce.
Referring to a report published in a local newspaper, the chamber in a statement alleged that while taking decisions, the stakeholders of different sectors were not involved. “Even the Draft Report of Government-Trade Working Group on Revival of Carpet Industry and the proposal submitted by Joint Director Handicraft Department Kashmir has not been considered,” it read.
The PHDCCI Kashmir has taken up the matter with the chief minister, finance minister and industries and commerce minister for holding of a joint meeting of finance, industries & commerce department and the stakeholders with the following recommendations for the self sustained development of MSMEs, handicraft and textile sectors of J&K with reference to the budget announcements 2018-19
