DGP visits slain cop’s family at Jammu

JAMMU: Director General of Police, J&K, Dr. S.P Vaid along with IGP Jammu S.D. Singh Jamwal visited the house of slain cop Deepak Thusoo who died in an encounter at Halmatpora, Kupwara.
While interacting with family Dr. Vaid assured all help to the family, a spokesperson said.
A spokesperson added that DGP acknowledged the exemplary courage shown by the official in the line of duty. The official is survived by wife, two children, mother and unmarried sister.
DGP also assured to expeditiously deal with the ex-gratia case so that the family is taken care of, especially the children.
In his tweet, DGP said: “It was heartbreaking to meet young children and other family members of our Deepak Thusoo who gave supreme sacrifice while fighting militants. Department will do everything within its powers to support the family. May God give strength to the family”.
The DGP was accompanied by Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu, Aftab Kakroo, AIG (Pers.), Shivdeep Singh Jamwal SP Rural Jammu, Manoj Pandit, AIG (Welfare/Comm.) PHQ, SDPO Nagrota Jasbir Singh and Madanmohan Singh Jamwal Dy.SP DAR Jammu.
