Police registers case against DeM for celebrating Pak Day

SRINAGAR: Police on Friday registered a case against the women pro-freedom organisation Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) for celebrating Pakistan National Day in Srinagar.
“It has come to the notice of the police about certain unlawful acts of DeM outfit through social media videos and other reliable sources where they have indulged in acts inviting penal provisions for offences under various sections of UA(P) Act,” police said.
“They have also raised anti-national slogans and have given hate/provocative speech thereby inviting charges under various sections of penal code.”
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and a case has been registered in this regard at police station Soura and investigation set into motion, police added.
