SRINAGAR: Terming Pakistan as an ideological state, chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syeda Aasiya Andrabi on Friday felicitated the country on its National Day.
“On March 23, 1940, a resolution was passed in which it was resolved that a separate and exemplary country will be formed for the Muslims of the subcontinent. It was decided that this state will be formed on the principles of Islam and will be named as Pakistan,” Andrabi said in a statement.
“In just seven years and lakhs of sacrifices, the Allah (SWT) blessed the Muslims of the subcontinent with this country. An ideological state based on Islamic principles is yet to be formed. The system for which this country was given to us by the Allah (SWT) has not yet been implemented in Pakistan,” she said. Congratulating the people and the government of Pakistan, Andrabi said, “After passing of this resolution, Muslims of the subcontinent have only one identity i.e. they are Pakistani.”
Meanwhile, DeM spokesperson said the party organised programmes across Kashmir to celebrate the Pakistan Day.
“Hundreds of members of the organisation participated. The largest gathering was held in Srinagar which was chaired by the party chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi,” the spokesperson said.
