Srinagar: Police on Thursday clarified that traffic police did not lift any of their vehicles instead they had requested the said department to arrange a crane for a vehicle after it developed some technical snag.
Earlier a news was circulated saying a police vehicle belonging to Police Station Kothi bagh was lifted by the traffic personnel for allegedly breaking traffic laws in Srinagar.
The news was circulated with a picture towing the police vehicle being taken away by traffic personnel. The picture was shared by Inspector General of Police (Traffic) Basant Rath. The move was “even hailed by people”.
However, police said that there was a breakdown of the vehicle which belongs to the SHO Kothi Bagh and they had requested the Traffic Department for a crane.
“The said vehicle has not violated any norms or rules,” a police official told Kashmir Reader. He added that P/S KothiBagh has got the vehicle back and there was no chalaan.
