Srinagar: Government forces arrested at least 15 persons in nocturnal raids in Arihal village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Locals of the village told Kashmir Reader that at around 2am during last night forces laid siege to the village, conducted raids and arrested 15 persons including two in the age group of 50 years.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, Muhammad Aslam Choudhary while confirming the arrests told Kashmir Reader that the arrested persons were “inciting violence” in different parts of district Pulwama.
“They are involved in stone pelting and inciting violence in the different parts of the district,” SSP said.
When asked about the arresting of persons of 50 years age he said, “Whosoever is involved in stone pelting or other such issues can’t be spared.”
About the number of arrested the SSP said, “I will verify the number of detained persons. The number of them may be around 10.”
