Sopore residents protest, accuse government of ignoring area in development

Sopore: The Coordination Committee Sopore on Tuesday organised a protest march against government for ignoring the area in the development.
Hundreds of people on Tuesday joined by various organisations of the town including Civil society, traders federation, Beopar mandal, Bar Association, fruit growers and dealers association, teachers forum and industrial estate Sopore under the banner of coordination committee Sopore took out protest march and raised slogans against state government for ignoring Sopore on the development front.
The sit-in protest was held at Iqbal market Sopore with the support of people from Bandipora and Kupwara districts.
They also protested the shifting of office of Joint director education from Sopore.
“Earlier Joint director Education joined the office at District institute of education and training (DIET) Sopore but the office was shifted from Sopore to Baramulla on political intervention”, coordination committee members alleged.
