Srinagar: In order to popularise adventure activities among the students of Islamia College, the department of Physical Education of the college organised the maiden trekking trip of this season to Mamnet medow in Dara mountain range on Tuesday
A team of 33 students and 7 staff members under the supervision of Dr.Altaf Ur Rehman and Prof. Mohammed Hanif was flagged off by the principal Dr.Muzafar Ahmed Khan at 7:30 am on Tuesday from the college gate.
The trekking party started its trekking from Scholar’s school point at 8:30 am and reached the Mamnetmedow at 11:00 am. At the summit the students were briefed about benefits of participation in trekking and other adventure activities by the accompanying teachers. The students were further informed about the positive effects on physical and psychological health of the individuals by taking part in it.
The students were briefed about future adventure programmes of the department. The party reached the college back at about 5:00 pm.
