RAJOURI: Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Management, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organised one-day seminar on cultural heritage concepts and context. The objective of the seminar was to sensitise the research scholars and students about the cultural heritage and its preservation for the development of cultural tourism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his introductory speech, Dean School of Management Studies, Prof Naseem highlighted the achievements of the university and shared the future road map of the School of Management Studies. While highlighting the theme of the seminar he said that Jammu and Kashmir is known for its cultural diversity and value system.
Former Director General, J&K Tourism, Saleem Beg deliberated in-depth on the theme and apprised the audience about the various projects for effective preservation of heritage assets of the state. He advised the students of Management and Tourism Studies to “promote cultural tourism which can substantially contribute to the socio-economic development of the state as a whole”.
Beg stressed upon planned conservation for heritage sites for future generation. He also congratulated the university for its growth in a shorter span of time.
