Vigilance files charge sheet against former DGM JKPCC

Srinagar: Vigilance Organization Jammu on Monday produced a charge sheet against a former, DGM, J&K Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) for indulging in corrupt practices during his tenure.
A spokesperson said that a charge sheet in case FIR No. 12/2013 P/S VOJ U/s 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006 BK, 12/14, 13/15 Public men and Public Servant Declaration of Assets and other Provisions Act 1983 r/w 168 & 120-B RPC was filed against Suresh Kumar Rekhi then DGM, JKPCC S/o Om Parkash Rekhi Resident of 35/2, Channi Himmat Jammu for misusing his official position and earning huge amount of money through illegal means by way of commission from contractors and suppliers by compromising the quality of work and thereby raised huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
“During secret verification conducted into the allegations, it revealed that Rekhi by indulging in corrupt and illegal practices has amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Luxurious vehicles like TATA Safari, CRV Honda and latest Electric and Electronic gadgets etc were found accumulated by the accused, in addition, it was found that the accused has visited foreign countries including US and UK 11 times,” spokesperson said in a statement.
“It was also found that his daughter was studying in U.K. Northampton University. The accused and his family spent lacs of rupees on foreign tours and clubs etc. For the above acts of omission and commission on the part then DGM Suresh Kumar Rekhi Case FIR No. FIR No. 12/2013 U/s 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act was registered and investigation started,” he said.
The statement added that after the conclusion of investigation the challan of the case has been produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu against Suresh Kumar Rekhi and his wife Kumud Rekhi
