Sopore: Residents of Tarzoo and its adjoining villages of Sopore are up in arms against the R&B department of Sopore for ignoring the dilapidated condition of roads in their village.
The protestors alleged district administration of step-motherly approach towards the area which they say have resulted in suffering & miseries to them.
“Due to the bad condition of the road and lack of proper drainage system, we are facings so many hardships but the authorities seem in no mood to address our genuine grievance”, Ghulam Nabi, a protestor told Kashmir Reader.
According to the protestors that blocked the road leading to the main town Sopore from Tarzoo village told Kashmir Reader that due to pathetic condition of the roads in our area, students, employees, patients face immense hardships to reach to their respective destinations on proper time.
“We approached R&B department & SDM office many times with a hope that issue will be addressed but till date nothing on ground happened, just the hollow assurances by officials”, another protestor, Riyaz Malik lamented.
“It is the only link road in area which was dropped in the macadimization plan of previous year leaving it in a dilapidated condition”, group of protestors said.
Officials in R&B department of Sopore Division told Kashmir Reader that this inner link comes under CRF (Centre Roads Fund) and till the time road widening is not completed we can’t go for macadamization, he, however, added that now road widening is in final stage and it will be followed by macadamization.
