2-week research methodology course concludes at IUST

AWANTIPORA: A two-week research methodology workshop for faculty and research scholars, sponsored by Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR) concluded at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) here on Monday. The workshop was jointly organised by Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures, IUST and Center for International Relations (CIR), IUST.
Dr Sonam Joldan, workshop coordinator stated that the workshop had been organised keeping in mind the extreme importance of quality research. The workshop covered various aspects of research methodology including theoretical concepts, data collection techniques, data analysis besides providing the participants a hands-on experience of statistical research tools, a statement issued here read.
In his inaugural address on 6th march, Vice Chancellor, Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi appreciated the two centers for organizing the programme. He encouraged research scholars and faculty members to pursue quality and ethical research.
Prof Salam, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences also spoke on the occasion laying emphasis on pioneer research.
Dean School of Business Studies, Prof A M Shah also spoke on the occasion.
Asstt Prof CIR, Dr Mantoo thanked the participants who had come from universities across India and from varied disciplines like management, political science, economics and allied fields. Sessions were held by eminent resource persons from Delhi University, Ambedkar University, Guru Gobind Indraprastha University, Kashmir University, Islamic University of Science and Technology and Central University of Kashmir among others, it added.
