ULB daily wagers demand regularisation

SRINAGAR: Daily wager workers of urban local bodies Thursday protested here to press for the demand of their regularization.
The workers had assembled under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Urban local bodies employees united forum here in press enclave also demanded transfer of their Director.
They raised slogans against the government for not fulfilling their genuine demands of regularization and release of their pending wages.
Nazir Ahmad one of the casual labour said “We are working in the department from last 12 years and are doing different types of works in the department.
“We are being paid Rs 4500 only as monthly wages in the department. We have been requesting the state government from time to time to regularise us but they do not pay any heed towards our issue,” he said.
The protestors also demanded the transfer of the concerned Director besides release of 14% DA arrear and pending wages of daily wagers, conduct of DPC ( State level and Division level ) and framing of seniority List, cases which are pending in directorate and release of G.P.F cases (who are working in the department from last 20 years).
Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, President Urban Local Bodies forum said government should address the issue of these employees on priority.
