Srinagar: Train service was again suspended on Friday for “security reasons” in south Kashmir, where two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces at Balhama Khanmoh area in the night-long operation.
“We have suspended all train runs in south Kashmir on Friday”, a senior railway official told UNI.
However, he said, all trains will run as per scheduled in north Kashmir.
He said a fresh advisory was received from police this morning to suspend all train runs in south Kashmir.
Therefore, no train will chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Trains will run on Srinagar-Badgam to Baramulla in north Kashmir as per schedule, he added.
