Ganderbal: The road leading to the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) campus Tullmulla is in a dilapidated condition much is causing inconvenience to the residents.
Residents said that road from Baroosa to Tullmulla is in shambles and authorities did not construct the road leading to CUK. They also said that walking or driving has become a herculean task for pedestrians and commuters.
According to the people, the road in the area is bumpy and dotted with potholes; transporters avoid plying their vehicles on it.
“The road has been devastated due to the movement of loaded trucks carrying construction material for the campus,” said Mohammad Maqbool Ganie, a local said.
Executive Engineer Syed Sajad Roads and Building (R&B) Department Ganderbal said that they have been given orders to construct this road this year.
“We have sent the project report to the government and are waiting for the approval. Once approval will come for the construction of road we will start the work,” he added.
While talking to Kashmir Reader, District Deputy Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla said that R&B Department had made proposal earlier but that project was not executed.
“Now they have made another project report and are waiting for the approval,” he said.
