BANDIPORA: ISM department Bandipora on Wednesday organised a diabetic screening cum medical camp at Garoora village of the district.
On the occasion, district nodal officer Dr Iftikhar Hussain said the village has been adopted under National Ayush Mission (NAM) scheme.
Earlier, a survey under National Ayush Mission was conducted in the area. Ashas, FMPHWs and ICDS workers in the village registered a number of diabetic patients who were provided Ayush medicine free of cost. Besides, hundreds of others were screened, by conducting diabetes test.
Apart from the diabetic patients, as many as 300 patients were treated in general, in the camp, Dr Iftikhar told Kashmir Reader.
MLA Bandipora Usman Majeed earlier inaugurated the camp and stressed upon people to opt for Ayush line of treatment as “Ayush medicine has no adverse effects”.
Usman also gave an appreciation certificate to Dr Iftikhar Hussain for his work.
Under National Ayush Mission, water purifiers and dustbins were donated to two government schools during the function.
