Baramulla: The Government Middle School ReshiporaHajibal in Baramulla district gives a grim picture of education system in Kashmir where only two teachers are appointed for nine classes.
About 14 kilometres from the main town Baramulla, Hajibal village is located on a hillside. As per the sources the education department appointed two teachers for nine classes in this middle school. The third teacher – who was also the headmaster of the school, is getting salary from this school, but is presently working in another school from past two years.
Manzoor Ahmad, a parent, said, “When schools opened last week after winter breaks, we were again disappointed when we saw only two teachers.”
“How can two teachers can teach students in this middle school, when there are nine classes from KG to class eight with different subjects? How can two teachers complete the syllabus,” he asked.
There are over 35 students in this middle school from different classes.
The chief education officer Baramulla, Abdul AhadGanie, when contacted, said that he will look into the matter and resolve this problem. “I am in Jammu and I have information that only two teachers are in this school. But I assure that I will visit this school and will look into the matter,” Ganie said.
